When the Nintendo DS was first announced it was dismissed by many as a white elephant with a gimmicky interface and underpowered graphics. Over 15 million sales later and the story is a little different. The DS Lite is fully compatible with all existing Nintendo DS (and Game Boy Advance) games but its smaller, sleeker and lighter with a new design that perfectly matches the Nintendo Wii console. The most impressive feature is the new backlit screens which offer the sharpest image ever seen on a portable console. The DS Lite is available in three separate colours: White, Black and Pink.
The DS Lite now has four brightness settings the highest is brighter than even the PSP and is clearly visible in any lighting condition. That sound? That'll be Sony executives running to the hills - wearing sunglasses.
The Nintendo DS is the fast selling console ever in Japan. When the DS Lite was released, it sold out instantly, with queues of over 1,000 people a common sight.

| I was expected the DS to be slightly worn, but seriously the one i recieved was practically untouched. Its previous owner had protected its outer casing with plastic armour and put screen protectors on so it was like new! I recomend this service greatly, though do check what "extras" the DS comes with, i'd go for the protective ones. |

| This littel black case know'n as the nitedo ds light is useful for kids. Because it has the word light means its not that heavy. It comes with a stick also know'n as the netedo ds mouse or stick is useful for useing it. For race's licke mario kart you don't need the stick or mouse you need the control pad. For game's like up and ice age 3 you will need the buttens wich are x , y , a and b. You also can put stickers on it ( only ds stickers ) |

My husband bought me this console last Yule and was utterly astonished at it being on my 'Wish List' as I have never shown any interest in gaming before.
The console itself is a nice black (I'm with Henry Ford on this one), is light which is good because I am disabled and cannot hold heavy equipment for extended periods, the instructions are fairly comprehenisve and once you get used to how it works (it's easy), then you are set up to either play games using the stylus or action games using the buttons.
Depending on what game you are playing and if that game is graphics heavy then you may find you need to keep on recharging the console but this doesn't take that long.
I did buy a leather case for mine eventually as I found fingerprints all over the exterior.....evidently getting over-anxious or excited when I finished a puzzle or a game.
I am over 50 (ouch that hurt) but this really is a lot of fun and so are some of the more adult games you can purchase. I am at present trying to get my brain age down using Brain Training............it's working too! |
